Now that you are all caught up, here is how our garden grows #5! A lot has grown since in the 2 weeks since I posted about the garden last. Look at it now:

Some highlights from around the garden. Purple peppers:

When ripe, these will be orange peppers:

Out of focus Jalapeno peppers:

Straight Eight Cucumbers:

Pickling cucumbers:

Sugar baby watermelon (I took this picture 2 days ago - today its twice this size!):

First planting sweet corn:

Tomatoes...these are taking forever to ripen, not sure why. I read today that if its too hot or too cold at night it will inhibit ripening...our weather has been weird lately so I am hoping that's all it is. Maybe in a few more weeks we will be swimming in tomatoes!

Broccoli, Romanesco and Cauliflower, all flourishing. I am cutting the last 4 heads of broccoli today to freeze. They are huge...I always wait too long to cut these, but I think they will still be okay. Its amazing how big these types of plants get...no wonder they recommend so much space between them when planting!

The garden is getting to be a really fun place now. Almost every night we all head outside to see if there is anything new waiting for us. In another few weeks to a month, I think we will really have our hands full preserving all this food. I think we are up to the challenge!!
